Postgraduate Student Society AHIBS (JB) organized dual back to back PGSS STRUCTURED COURSES for all postgraduate students on 16 December 2019.
The morning session with the topic of “Crafting the Literature Review” started at 9:00 am at Conventional Hall, AHIBS (Block T08), UTM. The theme of this workshop was to provide basic knowledge of finding the research gap, structuring the problem statement and core of developing the hypothesis to the postgraduate researchers.
Dr. Norhalimah Binti Idris, Head of Accounting Panel & Senior Lecturer at AHIBS was the resource person of this session. She is a Ph.D. holder who graduated from Loughborough University (UK) and her area of expertise is in Accounting Education.
The afternoon session of the workshop started at 2:00 pm in the same place. This workshop was a guiding tool for Ph.D. scholars in pursuing their degree. The important points of this session were:
- Review your progress and reflect on your motivations for pursuing a doctorate.
- Consider the challenges in maintaining your progress.
- Identify ways to address these challenges, including locating sources of further advice and guidance.
- Assess the range of sector-wide recommendations for overcoming barriers to Ph.D. progress.
Dr. Dewi Fariha Binti Abdullah, Head of Research Program & Senior Lecturer at AHIBS, was the resource person of this session. Her areas of expertise are Human Capital, Intellectual Capital Management, Auditing, Internal Audit, Accounting, Finance, Corporate Governance, Corporate Performance, Small and Medium Enterprises, Entrepreneurship.
Approximately 160 Ph.D. scholars from different faculties attended these informational sessions. In the end, Mr. Justin Zou Danting, President of Postgraduate Student Society AHIBS (JB) presented a token of appreciation to the worthy guest speaker on behalf of the participants.
