The PGSS structured course for postgraduate students was coordinated by PGSS MJIIT and fully funded by SPS UTM. The course was conducted with the objective to motivate postgraduate students particularly during this difficulty moment. The pandemic of COVID-19 has had some impact on the progress of their research, especially in laboratory work. Restriction from accessing campus has had an immense influence on momentum and motivation. However, with the proper and great guidance, the research can be proceeded with considerable success in various other related activities.

As a response, PGSS MJIIT introduced Dr. Mohammad Ali Tareq of MJIIT to be part of the participants’ guidance, giving motivational and inspiring talks on how to boost productivity. The topic has attracted over 130 participants during the live session via WEBEX platform. The theme introduced by the speaker was very exciting and unexpectedly overwhelming to the participants. The excitement of the participants can be seen through a questionnaire session, which has a cumulatively large number of questions.

The objective of the course was successfully accomplished on the basis of suggestions and reactions from the participants. Encouraging survey comments reveals how participants value the experience and knowledge they have acquired. Thus, again, PGSS MJIIT will continue to give them an even more exciting topic to support and inspire them to pursue their studies.
