In social science research, it is crucial for a researcher to practice ethics and ethical issues in publication in order to preserve the integrity. Acknowledging the importance of this, the Association of Graduate Students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (PGSS FSSH) has organized a program entitled ‘Ethics and Ethical Issues in Publications’ on 23rd September 2021, Thursday. The program was implemented collaboratively within our PGSS team led by Nor’Ain binti Abd Rahman.

The one and half hour structured course was conducted online via Webex, which started at 11 am until 12.30 pm with 30 minutes specialized for the Question-and-Answer (Q&A) session between the panel and participants. Before the program began, 117 participants registered in the pre-registration form and 57 participated through the whole program. The participants were from semester one until six from both master and PhD students. The knowledge sharing session by the invited panel, Associate Professor Dr Aqeel Khan had received positive and constructive feedback from the participants at the end of the course.

The participants stated that this program is beneficial and provides an insight to the ethics and ethical issues in publications. Several participants suggested that this program should be continued in future courses. Hence, this program is suggested to be conducted again with additional time since there were many questions that were left unanswered.
