PGSS SKT was pleased to conduct online structure course “Life After PhD” on 8th August 2021 (Sunday). It was an honor to have Dr. Ir Zaki Yamani Bin Zakaria, senior lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering, School of Chemical and Energy Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) to share her professional knowledge and experience. This workshop was promoted 2 week before the event through various media platforms that are accessible to students and managed to have 44 participants to join us online in Cisco Webex.

Most students upon completion of PhD are puzzled on whether they will be accepted by various industries as their peers during their Degree time had been working long and acquiring various soft skills. The aim of this course is to motivate students in networking with possible experts in their field of study so that their knowledge can be used as a platform for invention, investment and generation of talents. Based on the feedback from 44 participants, almost 80% of the respondents agree that PhD ensures a bright future in the field of research and consultancy while they are required to network with people during their study.
