Postgraduate Student Society of Razak Faculty of Technology and Informatics (PGSS-FTIR) in collaboration with School of Graduate Studies (SPS), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia was delighted to conduct the online postgraduate structured course entitled “Deductive Qualitative Analysis” on 21st January 2022. It was an honor to have Dr. Suraya Ya’acob from the Faculty of Technology and Informatics Razak as the main speaker to share her professional and valuable knowledge. This structured course aimed to] understand how researchers or students organized data into categories to maintain alignment with research questions. The understanding is more on qualitative research methods that are suitable for science and technology fields, while exploring new and novelty findings in its natural environment.

The registration for this program was open for two weeks, and an excellent response was received from the students. The online registration reached a good number of 259 registered participants. This program wa sadvertised through social media platforms which are accessible through Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp. A total of over 154 participants joined the program live on WebEx on the day. This research and technical program were revised and organized based on the topic ssuggested by SPS UTM. The program took about 2 hours 30 minutes time which was utilized with good, knowledgeable and pleasingdelivery on occasion. The speaker was overwhelmed with various kinds of questions which were delightfully and deliberately answered by the speaker which overall brought satisfaction to the participants.

Students expressed gratitude and satisfaction on receiving and learning the technical methods by this workshop. They expressed that the workshop was productive and insightful and gained immensely from the topic. Some of them said this program is useful and very helpful with the excellent presentation and questionnaires. The rating of this program was high with positive comments.
