Postgraduate Student Society of Azman Hashim International Business School (PGSS AHIBS) has successfully organized online structured course ‘FORUM ON INTRODUCTION TO DIFFERENT FACETS OF RESEARCH’, held on 23th January 2022, 1.00 p.m. until 4.00 p.m. through Webex online platform. The speakers for this program were presented of three academicians from Malaysia, Pakistan and Oman which are Dr. Muhammad Yasir (Bacha Khan University Charsadda, Pakistan), Dr. Maryam Mirzaei (German University of Technology, Oman) and Dr. Hishan S. Sanil (AHIBS, UTM). The forum aimed to provide an introduction on different facets of research which helped students, particularly from Master program to familiarize with the methods available in research field. The registration for this program was open for one week, and there were good responses from the students.
The overall program objectives are:
- Provide exposure to Business Research’s students on different methods in conducting research and to introduce them to the publication process
- To address some of the practical issues put forward by the participants
- To encourage virtual student mobility in the pandemic era
- The programmes help in enhancing teaching and learning through global knowledge sharing, providing experience for lecturers to serve as international speakers; an
- Creating a networking platform for students and staff for further cross-country collaborations.
The online registration had achieved a good number of 138 registered participants. The information on the forum was disseminated through various media platforms accessible to students including the Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Telegram. A total of over 96 participants joined the program on the actual day. The program was held for 2 hours which was enough for such informative-packed session. The speaker was competence in the subject matter, knowledgeable and gave a satisfactory delivery on occasion. The speaker attended all concerned raised by participants. Students expressed satisfaction on the clarification provided through the forum. It was a productive session and students successfully gained immensely from the topic. The rating of the forum was high, with positive comments.
