This course aims to expose postgraduate students to the best practices, strategies, and insights for publishing in high-impact journals. This course was presented by Associate Professor Dr. Leow Chee Yen, who obtained a Ph.D. degree in Wireless Communications from Imperial College London. He has headed 11 research projects and secured total funding worth over RM1.4 million. The outcomes of his research are published in 46 indexed journals, including 24 top-ranked Q1 and Q2 ISI journals.
The course started with the introduction of high-impact journals and discussed how to identify suitable journals based on the subject area, impact factor, turn-around time, type of papers, etc. Then, the strategy and tips for journal writing were highlighted. Next, the course discussed the submission and review processes and shared some tips for addressing the reviewer’s comments. After that, the course explained and defined the tips for writing the survey paper.
