The structured course entitled “For Your Better Citation: Endnote Workshop” was held on 10th March 2022 from 9.00 a.m to 12.00 p.m. The speaker for this workshop was ChM. Dr. Aemi Syazwani Binti Abdul Keyon. This course received encouraging responses from students. Almost 124 participants from both UTM and Non-UTM students have attended this course. The majority of participants were postgraduate students, especially those from Ph.D level. Furthermore, this workshop also received participation from undergraduate students.
This structured course organized by the Postgraduate Student Society Faculty of Science (PGSS FS) has successfully offered chances for students to learn more about another software that can be used for their citation which is Endnote software. The speaker, ChM. Dr. Aemi Syazwani Binti Abdul Keyon. conducted the workshop efficiently and managed to deliver all the tips and tricks to all participants. This workshop takes place actively where speakers and participants can communicate bilaterally. This is very good as it shows that the participants successfully understood and were able to follow all the steps and messages delivered by the speaker.
The speaker guided the participants on how to download the Endnote software. Participants were taught to create their own Endnote’s account and received a very detailed explanation from the speaker. Generally, basic knowledge of Endnote software is very important for every postgraduate student as they need to know the correct method to write a good citation. The speaker received lots of questions from the participants. Since this workshop was conducted together with Mendeley’s Workshop, participants were able to make their own choice on which citation software they preferred to use in the future. Overall, the course had achieved the objectives of the organizer since the course gets positive feedback from the participants.
