4 July, Johor Bahru – The online compulsory course entitled “UTM Thesis Template: Typesetting using LyX” has been successfully organized by Postgraduate Student Society of School of Electrical Engineering (PGSS-SKE), Postgraduate Student Society of School of Civil Engineering (PGSS-SKA), and Postgraduate Student Society of School of Mechanical Engineering and School of Biosciences & Medical Engineering (PGSS-SKM&SKBSK) at 2:30PM on 4 July 2022 (Monday).
Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Muhammad Nadzir Bin Marsono, who is an associate professor of electronics and computer engineering in School of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), was invited to share his professional knowledge. The speaker, who is among the major contributors for UTM Thesis Latex template, is an excellent candidate to deliver the talk. His supervised PhD graduate, Mohammed Sultan Mohammed also facilitated the course. A total of 103 participants attended the course.
The course aims to introduce LyX and use it to demonstrate how to typeset UTM Thesis according to UTM thesis format requirement.
The Cisco-Webex meeting was opened at 2.00PM to allow the registration of participants. The course started at 2.30PM and the moderator introduced the speaker. Afterwards, the speaker started the presentation. The speaker first introduce thesis formatting and LyX environment. Later on, the speaker demonstrated to typeset the thesis using LyX software. At 4.30PM, the presentation ended and followed by a Q&A session. The online course ended at 5.00PM after taking group photos with participants.
