6 July, Johor Bahru – This structured course has been organized by the Postgraduate Student Society School of Chemical and Energy Engineering (PGSS SKT) entitled “RESPONSE SURFACE METHODOLOGY (RSM) WORKSHOP – THEORY & HANDS-0N” which was held on 6th July 2022 from 8.30 a.m to 5.00 p.m. The speaker for this workshop is Prof. Madya Ir. Ts. Dr. Roshanida Binti A. Rahman. Thus, the workshop aims to help the audience with some strategies for experimentation as summarized below:

- Clarify the experimental objectives
- Identify response variables
- Identify potential experimental factor
COLLECTING AND ANALYZING THE DATA
- Identify and control sources of experimental error
- Select factors to include in the first experiment
- Choose high and low setting for each factor
- Select the suitable experimental design
- Run the experiment and analyze the results
PROBLEM REDUCTION
- Identify important factors
- Set qualitative factors at their best settings
- Fix unimportant factors at economical levels
- Pick levels for the important factors which should result in improved process performance in the next experiment
