18 August, Johor Bahru – The virtual program entitled “Join Us: SKE Postgraduate Programmes Preview At A Glance” was successfully organized by the committee of Promotional and External Relation of School of Electrical Engineering (SKE) in collaboration with Postgraduate Student Society of School of Electrical Engineering (PGSS-SKE) at 2:00PM on 18 August 2022 (Thursday).

Dr. Usman Ullah Sheikh, who is the postgraduate academic manager of School of Electrical Engineering, was invited to give the briefing of the postgraduate programmes offered by SKE. A total of 47 participants attended the course. The target participants include undergraduate final year students, 3.00 above or with offer letter by SPS-for MEE*, MKE*, MKEE, PKEE, current Master taught course students, Perdana-for PKEE, current Master taught course students, and Pesisir-for PKEE.

The objectives of the program are: –

-To give overview of the programmes offered by the school particularly Master by Taught Course, Master by Research and Phd to potential students,

-To get to know more about life in UTM from the sharing sessions with current students and alumni on the student’s life experience in UTM,

-To introduce the Postgraduate Student Society – School of Electrical Engineering (PGSS-SKE) and the support programs as well as student welfare services.

-Networking of Current Postgraduate Students

The Cisco-Webex meeting was opened at 1.45PM to allow the registration of participants. The program started at 2.00PM and the moderator introduced the speaker, Dr. Usman Ullah Sheikh. Afterwards, the speaker started the presentation to explain the postgraduate programmes offered by SKE. The presentation ended at 3.00PM followed by a question and answers session. After that, the president of PGSS-SKE, Sim Man Seng introduced the postgraduate student society and presented the activities organized by the society. Next, an international student representatives from Master by taught course and a local student representative from PhD by research presented their student experience. The program ended at 3.30PM after taking group photos with participants.

The feedback from the participants are positive overall. Some of the comments on the presentation include educative, satisfactory and good.
