19 Februari 2023, Johor Bahru – This program aims to provide hands-on exposure on using the UTM Thesis Template with the speaker, Ts. Dr Wan Zuki Azman. The speaker is one of the developers of the UTM Thesis Template format and together with Dr Mohd Zuli Jaafar of MZJ, Dr Wan Zuki also develops thesis templates for various universities in Malaysia. His expertise and in-depth knowledge of how to use and edit the UTM Thesis Template will provide valuable knowledge and skills to postgraduate students when preparing their thesis according to the thesis template and guidelines. As the thesis template is in Microsoft Word dotx format, the particular steps to use and edit the template should be known by postgraduate students in UTM at any stage of their research up until the submission of their thesis as it is a continuous writing process.
It is important for Postgraduate students to comply to the thesis guidelines before being able to submit the thesis for final submission. This can be achieved by utilizing and optimizing the thesis template.
This program is proposed to be conducted in a face-to-face hands-on workshop as suggested by the speaker. This is because having the program face-to face is more effective as participants will be exposed to an engaging face-to-face session where 80% of the workshop will be via hands-on learning of the word processing software used to edit the UTM thesis template. The maximum number of students for the program is 50 people. The venue required should be able to provide a conducive environment for the participants to use their laptops which means it should be equipped with sufficient electrical power sockets, seating area and tables. Each participant must bring along their own laptops for the hands-on session using Microsoft word.
SPEAKER’S PROFILE
Ts. Dr. Wan Zuki Azman Wan Muhamad is a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Engineering Mathematics (IMK), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Malaysia. He obtained his Doctorate of Philosophy, Master and Bachelor degrees in the field of Applied Statistics from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He was recently appointed as a Professional Technologist (P.Tech) from the Malaysia Board of Technology (MBOT) and is also a member of the Malaysia Mathematical Sciences Society (PERSAMA). Ts. Dr. Wan Zuki Azman Wan Muhamad is actively involved in teaching, research, technical training and has published a number of scientific papers in High Impact Journal and Indexed journals. He has vast experiences in lecturing and training of research tools such as Mendeley software, Thesis formatting, and Statistical software. He has been a Mendeley Advisor since 2016 and is a frequent webinar host and speaker both locally and internationally.
