PGSS SKE was pleased to conduct online structure course “Preparing for Viva Defense” on 25th August 2021 (Wednesday). It was an honor to have Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nadzir Bin Marsono, senior lecturer School of Electrical Engineering to share her professional knowledge and experience. The initiative of this workshop is aimed to provide exposure and assistance to postgraduate students to help them pre-prepared for their viva’s defence. The registration for this workshop was open 1 week prior with excellent response of 600 plus participants registered. The total participants that registered on the actual day were 428 persons. Viva presentation of master/PhD thesis requires you to prepare thoroughly. Viva Voce defence could be a failure if you do not present properly. Learning tips on how to do viva dissertation defense that makes you pass in viva is important. In this workshop you will be able to:
● Learn how to self-prepare before entering the viva room.
● Present confidently viva thesis presentation
The speaker starting with explaining the different degrees expectation from different level of study, continue with criteria of a good academic research and organizing ideas in the thesis. Speaker also explain the how the thesis examination, viva process, viva session prepared, and lastly post-viva process. The slotted time for the workshop was extended 1 hour to answers all the question from participants. Based on the feedback from the participants, the course was well organized and prepared. They very satisfied with the speaker that delivering the talk and the way speaker answered all their question. The feedback from the participants are positive overall. Some of the comments include informative, useful, clear, and good explanation.
