For this reason, researchers hope to overcome the predictable weakness or intrinsic biases and the problems that come from a single method, single-observer, and single-theory studies through the use of the triangulation method. By acknowledging this fact, the Association of Graduate Students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (PGSS FSSH) has organized a structured course entitled “Triangulation to Strengthen Research Findings” on Wednesday 23rd June 2021. The program was conducted by our PGSS team and led by Miss Nurul Aini binti A Kadir, the secretary of PGSS FSSH.

The two-hours structured course was delivered online via Webex. It started at 11.00 am until 01.00 pm and included a Question-and-Answer (Q&A) session between the panel and the participants. In the pre-registration phase, there were more than 201 registrations, but only 117 participants (across the faculty) have attended the program until the end. The majority of these participants were PhD students (from semester 1 to 6) compared to Master’s students. At the end of the course, the invited panel Dr c has received positive and constructive feedback from the participants regarding the knowledge sharing session.

According to the feedback given by the participants, this event was very helpful and beneficial for them in preparing their research methodology in order to overcome the predictable weakness and biases. The participants also appreciated that the session was very detailed, informative, and interactive. Moreover, they stated that the speaker was clear and straightforward in answering their questions, therefore, each of the participants’ curiosity was answered during the session. Thus, it is hoped that this kind of programs will be organised again in order to help postgraduate students to learn more about research.

Reported by:

Sana Touahmia

Secretary of Program “Triangulation for Strengthen Research Findings”

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_gallery gallery_ids=”4880,4882,4884,4886″ fullwidth=”on” _builder_version=”4.4.8″ global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_gallery][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

Ensuring the reliability of findings is important in any research.
