A very good evening to Dr Norah, our PGSS advisor, staffs at the School of Postgraduate Studies (SPS), esteemed juries, my 3MT committee members and dear finalists.

First of all, I would like to thank Dr Norah and SPS for believing in me when they made me the director of 3MT 2024. I can’t thank enough for their constant support guiding me throughout this entire event. I hope and would like to believe I have justified my position.

Next, I would thank my 3MT committee members, without their valuable suggestions, efforts and hard work, this event wouldn’t have been possible. On behalf of the organizing team, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you for your participation and support in making this event a great success. Your dedication, enthusiasm, and cooperation have contributed immensely to the smooth running of today’s event. I am blessed to have such a cooperative team and do hope to continue working together in our future endeavors. Thank you all once again!

I have to admit, the whole journey had its ups and downs, but I always had the support and guidance from both SPS staffs and my committee members for which I am forever grateful. I hope they don’t hate me for always texting them with some tasks to do without even asking how are they and if they have eaten. I am sure they hate seeing my name/number appearing on their phone throughout this entire journey.

Next, I would like to thank our distinguished panel of juries Dr Saiful, Dr Ain, Dr Norah and Mr Jay for their valuable time, expertise and thoughtful evaluation of the presentations. I believe your questions, insights and feedbacks will undoubtedly be valuable to our participants as they continue their academic and professional journeys.

Once again, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in making this event a success—from the organizers to the judges and all behind the scenes. Your hard work has created an inspiring platform for celebrating research excellence. Thank you all for your commitment.

Last but not the least, I want to congratulate all the contestants for their outstanding presentations and dedication to advancing knowledge that has made them the top 10 finalists for today. What an extraordinary display of talent, innovation, and passion we’ve witnessed today in the Three Minute Thesis competition. I am truly humbled by the caliber of research and the dedication shown by each and every participant. Your passion truly shines through! May the spirit of the 3MT program continue to inspire and empower researchers around the world.

Throughout this competition, we were taken on a journey across diverse fields of study, from the microscopic world of molecular biology to the technicality of engineering. Each presentation was a testament to the breadth and depth of human curiosity and creativity.
