PROGRAM, PROFESIONAL, SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT DIVISION (BPPSP)

The Program, Professional and System Development Division has four core functions mainly in:

  • Monitoring academic program quality assurance,
  • Providing students training and professional development,
  • Supporting academic staff supervision development, and
  • Providing IT technology and communications services and support to graduate and academic staff.
PROGRAM & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT UNIT

Functions

  • Ensuring that the curriculum and practices of graduate programs comply with the strategies, policies and regulations of the university, ministry, Malaysia Quality Assurance, and professional bodies.
  • Monitoring the implementation of university general courses.
  • Training and professional development courses for Students and Supervisors
  • Supervisory Quality Assurance.
UNIT IT & MULTIMEDIA

Functions

  • Development, support and maintenance of systems and Web sites.
  • Liaison with UTM Digital for system issues.
  • Managing IT equipment including purchases, inventory and security. Provide technical support for ICT hardware and software.
  • Ensuring that the internet networks in SPS are always in good condition. Graphical design related to system & database.

Administration & Academic Quality Division (BPKA) 

 

The Administration and Academic Quality Division (BPKA) manages all administrative affairs, human resources, financial, academic quality, and sponsorship matters.

    Academic Quality, Lifelong Learning & Administration Unit (UKAPP)

    Functions

    • Managing the information related to annual KAI
    • Managing Quality (5S, KIK, ISO)
    • Planning and managing human capital development (trainings, courses, workshops, staff welfares)
    • Administration (correspondence, students’ workspace, OSHE, resources)
    • Secretariat of Executive & Administrative Meeting
    • Official visits
    • Secretariat of Anugerah Kualiti Perkhidmatan (AKP)
    • Student workspaces
    • Human Resource Management
    Academic Quality & Data (UKAD)

    Functions

    • Update information for KAPS, Academic Regulation & other related policy
    • Appointment of Supervisors
    • Appointment of External supervisor
    • Managing GSMS and VMS
    • Secretariat of Jawatankuasa Akademik Pengajian Siswazah Universiti (JAPSU)
    Academic Quality & Sponsorship (UKAB)

    Functions

    • Managing internal scholarships (UTMNexus Scholarship, International Doctoral Fellowship, and UTM National Postgraduate Fund)
    • Managing publication incentives and travel grant (UTM Young Scholar Grant)
    • Managing program registration documents and status verification data (PTPTN)
    • Verifying student’s scholarship status to Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia (KPM)
    • Monitoring scholarship recipient’s performance
    • Preparing and managing Research University audit data (Fellowship)
    FINANCIAL UNIT

    Functions

    ● Managing SPS Operational Budget Planning and Allocation;
    ● Managing SPS Direct Purchase and Quotation Procurement;
    ● Managing SPS Operational Budget and Trust Fund Payment;
    ● Managing SPS Petty Cash;
    ● Managing Receivables for SPS Rental Collection;
    ● Managing Receivables and Invoices for SPS Conferences Collection;
    ● Preparing Academic Program Costing for Offshore, Special and ODL Programme;
    ●Managing Students Debt Collection through Invoices (Sponsorship), E-Pengeluaran System (EPF), E-Commerce, UTM Smart);
    ● Managing Offshore and Special Programme Payment Packages;
    ● Managing Academic Program Profit Allocation for Offshore and Special Programme;
    ● Managing Education Fee for ODL Programme;
    ● SPS Finance Secretariat;
    ● Managing SPS Financial Reporting and Auditing Matters.

    OFFSHORE & SPECIAL PROGRAM DIVISION (BPPK)

     

    This division is known as Offshore & Special Program Division (BPPK) which engages with faculties that are interested in offering programs off-campus at any desired Centre.

    Besides, with the advent of technology, this unit assists faculties to offer Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programs, where it transforms the education to be more flexible and accessible to meet the needs of the 21st century learners.

      SPS KL

       

      The main function of SPS KL is to focus on the implementation of Ph. D Industry program at UTM and the students’ learning experience, handling the logistics and class operation for the offshore programs offered at UTM Kuala Lumpur, managing the Student Lounge UTM KL and assisting students and faculties at UTM Kuala Lumpur in various related academic matters especially on research study ecosystem.
