POSTER AND ORAL PRESENTATION  

GENERAL GUIDELINE 

 

1.    REGISTRATION

 

 

 

2.    GENERAL GUIDELINE

 

· Only Postgraduate students of UTM are eligible to apply

  • Registration deadline is on 18/4/2023.
  • E-Poster and proof of fee payment submission deadline is on 27/4/2023. The documents can be submitted through https://forms.gle/h5K7GZDbsWe18kpg6
  • Closing Ceremony and Awards Presentation will be held on the same day, 9/5/2023 (Compulsory for all presenters)
  • All participants will receive an e-certificate for
  • Presenters are allowed to include supervisor’s name along with co-researcher’s name (if any) in the e-certificate, however only one (1) medal will be presented for each winner.

 

 

3.    POSTER GUIDELINE

 

Following are the guidelines for prescribed contents and format of E-poster:

  • Presenters can refer to the poster template as a guideline. The design is all based on the researcher.
  • The content of the E-poster must be the researcher’s own work.
  • The theme of the poster must follow UTM’s branding guideline including logo and tagline.
  • The size of E-poster is A3 (297 mm ⨯ 420 mm).
  • Poster orientation must be in Portrait.
  • Poster content should be in English.
  • Relevant images must be included.
  • Presenter’s photo and detail should be placed at the bottom of the E-poster
  • File Format: Save your E-poster as JPEG or PNG image file (no other format will be accepted).
  • File Size: The file size of E-poster should not exceed 100 Megabytes (100 MB).

 

Following should be the content of E-poster for evaluation:

  1. Research background
  2. Literature review (brief)
  3. Methodology
  4. Research scopes
  5. Research Significance
  6. Originality/Novelty
  7. Result/Preliminary result (If any)
  8. Conclusion

  • REMINDER (DON’T):
    1. Use small font size and shadow effect.
    2. Use the same background colour as the title and its content.
    3. Use blurry image of products or researchers.
    4. Put lengthy description.

 

 

4.    ORAL PRESENTATION GUIDELINE

 

  • Judging session will be held on 9/5/2023 virtually via Webex Online. A detailed schedule for parallel sessions and Webex link will be provided.
  • Presenters are required to attend the parallel session from beginning to the end.
  • Presenters who fail to attend the presentation and Q & A session will be disqualified.
  • Presenters are required to wear formal attire and open the video camera while presenting their e-poster.
  • Presentation should be no more than 5 minutes with 5 minutes of Q/A session.
  • Presentation must be in English only. However, for the Social Science category, researchers (Presenters) can present in English or Malay.
  • Feedbacks from the presenters after the judging session are welcomed but will not have any effect on the results. All results are FINAL. Appeals or correspondences will not be entertained.
